Curio Cosmo is Variant Labs’ lead mascot and one of the company’s most recognizable public-facing personalities. Designed to be bright, kid friendly, and instantly memorable, Curio serves as the face of Variant Labs across promotional and informational propaganda. Variant Labs’ public image already leans heavily on personality driven advertising and branded media, making a mascot like Curio a natural extension of that identity.

Curio's persona is a mixture of a Monarch Butterfly, and a Bluebird. Curio originally had the look of tiny bits of data, but with Adrian's expertise and connections, he was able to customize Curio's overall look. Curio came into play not soon after the death of Matthew Henderson.

 

Curio’s AI voice and digital model were manufactured by SilasTech, a leading developer of advanced & friendly centered AI units, as well as computer hardware. Named for creating highly interactive, digitally advanced personalities, SilasTech has become one of the primary names behind the mascot technology used not only by private institutions, but by Zion itself to this day.

 

Due to the nature of past investigations surrounding alleged terrorist activity and unlawful technological distribution, SilasTech has been placed under multiple international watchlists and sanctions across Zion territories and beyond, deeming it more dangerous than some folks found in Zion itself. 

 

In the aftermath, nearly all engineers abandoned the company entirely, leaving its facilities dormant and its communication networks fractured. Currently Silastech is known to be completely abandoned, however, rumors have been dispersed that the market for AI models can still be accessed and purchased.  ​

It was Ezekiel Snow, a closer contact from Adrian's past, and a skilled engineer, who was able to establish a connection to SilasTech, and accessing a compartment to purchase Curio's AI port in the first place.  

 

The main creator behind these units is Silas Hollo, whose work helped establish SilasTech’s reach and influence in this growing field of digital character technology. However, despite that legacy, Silas Hollo’s current whereabouts are unknown, since the fall of the company.
