Elias Vanguard is the younger sibling of Zenneth Vanguard, and the quieter half of the two.

Elias is softer than Zenneth in almost every way:  quicker to startle, slower to pick a fight, and never one to argue with everyone he meets the way his brother does. Growing up, he stuck close to Zenneth, content to let him take the lead and handle the confrontations Elias would rather avoid.

​

That dynamic carries over into Variant Communications. Zenneth runs point on the business side, HR, company structure, the decisions that shape how things work. Elias stays further from the spotlight, doing whatever needs doing without complaint: hauling supplies, organizing materials, setting things up, taking on whatever task lands in his hands. 

​

Elias does not have the same confidence, or business instinct. He is nervous in unfamiliar situations and tends to second-guess himself, especially around louder personalities.

 

Still, when given something clear to do, he does it.

One of Elias’s closest connections is Theo Morgan. The two became friends from a distance and kept in touch as pen pals for a while, writing back and forth before ever meeting face to face.

 

That changed after Matthew Henderson’s incident, which eventually brought Elias and Theo together in person.

Elias is not one of Variant Labs’ big decision-makers, and he is not trying to be. He is someone who stays close to what feels familiar.
